I'm not gone yet, just waiting for a package to come in. Got some retro games I want to talk about. Will probably see it tonight....probably....maybe....yes.

Spent yesterday evening watching the first series (What they call seasons in the UK) of Luther. It stars Idris Elba, whom most have seen HBO's The Wire or most recently playing the role of Asgard's guardian, Heimdall in Marvel's Thor earlier this year. Before then, I didn't know Idris was from the UK, that just shows how much range an actor can perform. In The Wire, I truly believed he was American. On that matter, it blew my mind that Dominic West who plays Detective Jimmy McNulty in The Wire is British as well.
Anyways, Luther, follows DCI John Luther. He obsesses on the cases he works on, to the point he has an estranged relationship with his wife Zoe with whom he still loves, but of course, being the genius cop he is, the job comes first. Luther is a crazy dark police drama where you get the common criminal-does-his-deed at the beginning of the episode. But man, the crimes involved are dark as hell for a primetime BBC One show. Very early in the series (first episode early), he interrogates Alice Morgan, a prime suspect in her parents and family dog's murder. She's intelligent, probably moreso than Luther. Though Luther knows she committed the crime, there is no hard evidence to prove it, she's let go. During the interrogation, Alice develops an interest in Luther, intrigued by his intelligence and polarizing character against hers and involves herself into Luther's life, both personal and professional. I could say more about her, but ruins the fun later on as she becomes a lovely foil in the show.
It's fairly a quick watch, you can watch this on a lazy afternoon if you got nothing else to do. There's only 6 episodes for the first series and on Netflix's Watch Instantly, that is if you still have an account with them.
Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:05PM Well, I figured I'd start up a blog again. Though this time I'd keep it simple. What's going on in my life, tech things I find enjoyable, little projects I work on. That sort of thing. Things that Facebook or Google+ wouldn't be the proper forum for.
Right now....I should probably clean my room...
