Random thoughts of Luca

Tomorrow, Watchmen will be released in theaters. It has been receiving good reviews from critics who are familiar with the source material. Though since I’m not as much the nerd I should be, I won’t be going to a midnight showing. The midnight crowds are almost the rowdiest. Makes me think of the X3 premiere, total madhouse and people spouting the stupid memes (I’M THE JUGGANAUT BITCH). It was almost impossible to enjoy the movie even though it wasn’t the best of the trilogy.

So I’ll be attending a Friday night show with a friend and be in awe of watching a movie that was once claimed the “unfilmable film”. I don’t have super high hopes, I never do for translations and adaptations. But I keep hearing it’s a respectable adaptation so that at least gives me comfort. I did re-read my Watchmen (Absolute Edition) I bought a couple years back when I got back into comics. It made me appreciate the book more and this time I didn’t nod off while reading the Black Freighter parts. I’m looking forward to tomorrow night, I’ll be wearing my Watchmen shirt I got from San Diego Comic-Con last year, that’s probably the extent I’ll wear before considering it cosplay.
